Final Assessment

Welcome to the free lance world or entrepreneurship. We have discuss taking the leap, in the Now What Podcast.  We have talked about joining a community, in the Join a Tribe Podcast.  We have mentioned what is needed, in the Tools of the Trade Podcast.

Finally we will discuss looking for work, finances, and keeping it fun.

Looking for work

There are many ways to look for work.  You can ask your family and friends for referrals.  You can ask members of your community, for any low handing fruit.  You can ask for referrals from existing clients.

You could seek work from job boards, such as upwork, fiverr, and flexjobs.

Finances

This is a business.  You need to treat it like it is a business.  Keep your personal and business money separate.  I would recommend finding out how much money does it take for you to live on.  What are your living cost, family cost, and miscellaneous cost.  This amount is needed to be pulled from your business each month.  I would also recommend putting away three to six months of monthly expenses.  This will keep you from a lot of stress, as you grow your business.

Keep it fun

Keep it fun.  Make sure you develop relationships in your community.  Ask for referrals.  Ask about how they handle finances.  Look for a mentor.  Discuss your business with family members. Share wins and losses.  Make sure to save.  Anything over your monthly expenses need to be place in your saving accounts.  You will have low or bad months, your saving and three months cushion will be greatly appreciated.
